Assignment: Your challenge is to create a well-developed speech that provides your audience insight into a career you find important or fascinating.

You must use and cite at least 3 sources, at least 1 non-Internet.

Your three main points have been chosen for you.
No matter what career you choose, you will need to research and find information that relates to the following main points:

I. A brief history of the career/profession
II. What a person in this profession does/typical duties/day-to-day tasks –or– A step-by-step example/demonstration of a task/process common or necessary to this career
III. Benefits and drawbacks to having this career

Grading Criteria: Similar to your first speech, Organization is key.

● Introduction: Should gain attention, state the topic, establish the importance of the topic, establish speaker’s credibility, and preview the main points

● Body: Should provide thorough insight on your topic. Signpost, State, Support, and Summarize each main point, giving proper in-speech citations from your research.

● Conclusion: Should review the main points, activate the audience, and provide a clear and memorable ending.

● Visual Aid: Should enhance your informative speech, and be effectively incorporated into the presentation.

● Outlines: You will turn in BOTH a Full/Formal Outline (before the speech) and a Speaking Outline (after the speech). Outlines should be typed, correctly formatted, and proofread for grammatical errors. Don’t forget to include bibliography/works cited.
