The Potential Causes of Female Violence: Since violent female offenders are rare, it is difficult to study them using traditional research techniques. As a result, violent female offenders are often excluded from studies. Consequently, this has resulted in more collective knowledge and understanding of the causes of male violence than female violence. Coupling the lack of research-based knowledge with pragmatic understanding that females and males are different, an increasing focus needs to be placed on why females become violent offenders. One way to address this issue is by analyzing specific violent female offenders and trying to gather as much information as possible about them, their upbringing, and their crimes. Doing so can provide more information about female offenders and the reasons that they become violent offenders.
